City Life in Cagayan de Oro

A progressive metropolis dubbed as City of Golden Friendship, home to famous white water rafting and natural wonders as well as gateway to neighboring provinces in Northern Mindanao – Cagayan de Oro.

Centrio at night
As I’ve mentioned, CDO is the key city in Northern Mindanao, Hotels, Transient houses and alike can be easily tracked in the City, specifically along Divisoria and Agora Market from high ends up to budget friendly accommodation. There’s lot of selection depending with your needs and taste.

Together with my friends, we’ve experience luxurious lodging at Victoria Suites for three consecutive days and an overnight stay at Win Min Inn without spending much. We sincerely felt the comfort and safety with top of the line service and accessories inside the room. Plus the fact that it’s located in strategic areas wherein Malls, Restaurant and Bus/Van terminal can be easily accessible. Cool.

Speaking of terminal, Agora Market is the central station in CDO operating in different provinces in Mindanao with routes from Butuan in Agusan del Norte up to Davao City and other near region. Easy and convinient access

Limketkai Mall
Like in Metro Manila, competition of large modern and old structure of Malls and supermarket is visible in Cagayan. There’s Centrio, Limketkai Center, Gaisano Mall and SM. We’ve managed to visit the first three establishments to explore notable restaurants and we’ve even watched in one of their movie house, I must say it feels like home.

Having said of discovering food haven in CDO, will name a few that we've personally recommended to all, that highly satisfied our taste buds. First in our list is Kagay-anon restaurant from the name of the bistro itself, it offers authentic food of the province as well as all time Filipino favorites such as sinigang, pancit, lechon manok and must try is their ostrich dish, overall rating would be 5 stars because of their cozy Filipino set up and tasty foods.

Household name cafeteria that you shouldn’t miss when visiting CDO is Missy Bon Bon, renowned for their breads and pastries. We’ve took our classy lunch their and bought homemade pastel afterwards

There’s lot of resto grill near divisoria just have time to walk, explore and try different street food and I’m surely you’re tummy will enjoy the food tripping.

The night is always young here. There’s lot of clubs and acoustic bar that you can choose from and we’ve grabbed the opportunity to hang out and experience the night life in CDO. Same atmosphere in Malate, Taguig and Timog with up to beat songs and acoustic live performance, all your choice where to stay.

You can all try food tripping and social life without splurging much having good companies, bottles of beer and with meaningful and naughty conversation to fill the air you’ll never forget memories you’ve spend together. As one with my friends we’ve created fond memories in CDO and I’m extremely suggesting to everyone to visit CDO with your love ones and friends, there’s lot to discover and experience that I miss to mention and share to me once you’ve tried it yourself. Thanks for journeying with me. Till next time.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: For detailed story telling refer with my other post about my Northern Mindanao Trip, we’ve also visited Malasag Ecotourism Park and the Cathedral. Unfortunately due to continuous rain we have limited time to roam around some Museum and famous landmarks better luck next time.
